Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering task analysis, walk-downs, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: environmental remediation systems, deactivation, and decommissioning projects, engineering analyses, analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads, design of structures of various materials, foundation and anchorage design, structural analysis for impact, and other accident conditions; piping and instrumentation diagrams, pressure protection specifications and standards, equipment & material specifications; & related construction specifications in accordance with national consensus codes and standards. Provide technical support to site construction forces, start-up & testing, suppliers or subcontract personnel. Prepare Data Sheets, Statements of Work, Scopes of Work, work Instructions, Procurement Specifications, Design Build Specifications, and Purchase Requisitions.
Engineering Services will be provided using SRS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRS.
Candidate functioning as a Mechanical Engineer shall be a graduate of an accredited engineering curriculum.
Candidate must demonstrate ten (10) years of recent design experience, four (4) of which shall include process pressure protection. Candidate must possess a working knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to process piping, such as ANSI/ASME B31.3. Experience with 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred. Ability to use Windows Microsoft Office applications is required. Previous SRS Design Engineering experience is preferred.
General knowledge of electrical / control systems, connection diagrams, layout plans, logic diagrams, panel layout details, P & IDís and structure loading calculations and Deactivation and Decommissioning of Facilities ( preferred ).
Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing and environments where a respirator is required.
