Job Responsibilities
AS in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent

This position requires a minimum of 4 to 5 years of relevant experience, 19 being the industry average, in piping design

Technical Competencies: *Familiarity with ANSI B31.1 and B31.3
Knowledge and application of piping materials
Drafting of P&IDs and GAs
Design of less complex process and utility piping systems
Knowledge and application of department design standards
Knowledge and application of drafting and CAD standards
Knowledge and application of piping supports and restraints
Knowledge and application of Standard Operating Procedures
Knowledge of information required from other disciplines and the ability to obtain such information to accomplish design activities in a timely manner
Knowledge of other disciplines deliverables development to ensure coordination of design efforts
*Knowledge of manual valve sizing, use and application
Skills: Knowledge of CAD set up and use
Proficient use of MS Word, Excel and Mail
Proficient use of Proficient use of SmartPlant and Microstation software
Effective use of three dimensional CAD software (As projects allow)
Good listening, writing and communication skills
*Able to accurately forecast the hours required to complete your work activities
Able to gain trust and respect of coworkers
*Able to coordinate with process group in developing complete and optimum equipment/plant arrangements
Duties and Responsibilities: You will generally be responsible for assisting with the complete piping design effort of an area of a project under general supervision. You report administratively to the department manager and functionally to the piping discipline lead for your current project. Your duties may include:
*Becoming thoroughly familiar with the client’s expectations, overall scope, budget, and schedule for assigned work
*Developing the design and drafting of moderately complex piping drawings given basic information such as P&IDs, GAs, piping specifications, equipment drawings, etc.
*Participating in squad checks to ensure compatibility of piping deliverables with other discipline deliverables
Preparing material take-offs for piping drawings
*Performing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction
*Planning and managing your site design activities for optimum results
*Preparing manhour estimates for your activities
*Monitoring the area scope for changes and initiating scope change notices
Overall Expectations:
US Citizenship required (No dual citizenship)
