• Strong IT and Cyber Security background
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to recognize and establish priorities and provide timely deliverables and consult relevant sources, including technical documentation, subject matter experts and project personnel, to obtain information
• Familiarity with risk assessments and processes to include the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval ensuring final documents meet applicable requirements
• Solid understanding of DOE Orders


Basic Qualifications: The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position.
• Extensive experience with NIST 800-53
• Experience analyzing data to determine if systems meet policy standards.
• Experience with external and internal corporate audit processes and activities
• Experience researching and gathering technical and background information for inclusion in the deliverables
• Experience with planning. developing, organizing, writing, and editing Cyber Security policies, procedures and manuals. This may include reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, cyber security policy, system specifications and/or functional descriptions, standard opening procedures and cyber security plans


Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other relevant discipline and 15+ years of experience in IT; or Associate’s degree or technical diploma/degree in Information Technology and 19+ years of relevant experience in IT; or 23+ years of Enterprise level IT experience in an administration, support and/or oversight capacity.

Level Specific Responsibilities

• Experience in the Computer Security field, with experience implementing cyber security solutions in diverse operating environments.
• Demonstrated technical writing skills
• May lead, direct and train team members on information systems in areas including cyber security, application support. business analysis, database administration, software quality assurance and quality control or software engineering.
• May lead and direct the implementation of cyber security controls to ensure confidentiality, availability and integrity of systems, networks and applications in accordance with contract requirements, NIST guidance, industry best practices, and DOE policy.
• Assist in the Certification & Accreditation (C&A) process of multiple boundaries.
• Assist in Cyber Security compliance reviews and assessment.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining cyber security related document.
• Ensure IT computer and network security are in proper working order and security policies and procedures are being followed.
• Assist in providing analysis, interpretation and evaluation of cyber security policies, requirements, threats, risks and vulnerabilities.
• Assist in responses to security incidents and provide status reports.
• Perform log analysis, and interpreting intrusion-related information.
• Responsible for influencing the architecture, design and implementation of IT to ensure the availability, confidentiality and integrity of data Works under minimal supervision.
• Acts as a mentor to less senior IT staff.
• Provides technical direction, development, training and mentoring to subordinate team members
• Arranges, prepares and conducts meetings, workshops and presentations as required
• Works under general direction and provides direction for projects.
• Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies.
• Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization.
• Performs work in a technical lead capacity and makes decisions that require the application of a significant range of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable variety of contexts.
• May be required to be in an on-call status to be able to promptly respond to and address user/customer needs Oversees investigative work to seek effective business solutions.
• Organizes implementation through improvements in information systems, data management, processes and procedures, organization and equipment.
• Advises on alternatives and assesses technical limitations with operations realities
• Evaluates and recommends new automated testing software, client/server software and test lab hardware to support cyber security testing
