Day & Zimmermann is actively accepting applications for a Project Controls Lead:

The Project Controls Lead will have responsibility for implementing cost & schedule on firm fixed price and T&M projects.

The Big Picture: Top Skills You Should Possess

Knowledge of general project controls/schedule functions (PMI methods) and the ability to plan, organize, budget, and monitor progress.
Proactive in driving change management and risk analysis
SAP R/3, and Primavera P6 knowledge is a plus.
Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and exceptional management and organizational skills.
Good computer skills and proficiency using Primavera, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI and Access.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and must possess the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Proactive in escalating project issues, variance, and trends in timely manner/fashion
Effective presentation skills leading weekly/ monthly review meetings
EPC experience (10+ years) knowledge a must in firm fixed price settings–ability to drive project control procedures & methods with operations
Demonstrate leadership skills on project work and drive budget & schedule success with the team
What You'll Be Doing:

Interface with clients and Business Unit Directors & VP's to ensure the required deliverables are being met, including monthly/period reports and project reviews.
Participate in Project Support Team activities & Periodic audits of processes to ensure Contractual and Day & Zimmermann Procedural compliance. This activity will include travel.
Develop and maintain site specific project controls procedures as required per the contract
Establish and maintain Project Work Breakdown Structure and convert estimate into cost system budget
Develop and maintain Primavera schedules
Monitor schedule progress against baseline and drive team to participate in updates
Maintain direct labor cost forecast utilizing physical progress and earned value methods. Evaluate wage rates and productivity along with physical % complete to generate forecast
Perform field walk downs to verify progress and quantities installed
Maintain a timely change management program along with change order log
Maintain project risk register and contingency draw-down plan
Develop weekly/monthly reports
Develop & maintain time phased workbooks for indirect cost forecasts which includes staff, tools/rentals, equipment & subcontracts
Interface with procurement & operations driving the requisition and goods receipt process for vendors
Monitor and track invoice progress
Review and validate time-sheets in the field prior to entries
Analyze best & worst case EAC and gross margin scenarios
Generate Ad-hoc reports as required to meet Client/Contract requirements

What You Need To Bring To The Table:

College or post-secondary education is a plus
Ten plus years’ experience in related project controls assignments (FFP project work)
Computer proficiency certifications a plus or equivalent education
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
