Our client, a trusted government contractor across multiple DOE sites, is a small business yet has expanded at an accelerating rate in the last several years. They have an excellent reputation and value honesty, integrity, safety, and security above all else. The client specializes in the Nuclear industry including the energy and defense sectors.
Our client is looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer, the individual will work with potential suppliers and recommends those most desirable. Advise personnel, suppliers, and customers of nature and function of parts and equipment. Individual will interview supplier representatives regarding specifications, costs, inspection, and similar problems relating to parts and equipment. Arrange and participate in conferences between suppliers and engineers, purchasers, inspectors, and other company personnel to facilitate material inspection, substitution, standardization, rework, salvage, utilization, and economical procurement(s) of parts and equipment.
You will have:
Experience with inventory control process
Experience performing evaluations and reviewing procurement documents
Effective verbal and communication skills
Ability to analyze bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements
Ability to identify cost reduction opportunities
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business or related field
5 years experience in procurement management
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must meet the eligibility requirements for a DOE Access Authorization (DOE Q Clearance), if necessary
