GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer, to join our team for a short-term project at Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID. The ideal candidate has ample experience with HVAC operations, inspections, and Lockout/Tagout.
This position will serve the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID for approximately 2 months and standard GSA Per Diem will be provided.
Perform walk-downs and inspections for multiple HVAC and utility systems in support of nuclear and non-nuclear projects.
Set-up and correct HVAC systems.
Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, etc.
Lead a team of fellow engineers and technicians.
Requires strong mechanical/electrical skills, including the ability to work safely with 3-phase.
Selected individual will have ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years’ relevant HVAC experience.
Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
Experienced in operating, maintaining and installing HVAC systems.
General facility repair, carpentry and buildings trades.
Five (5) years' of facility repair experience
Three (3) years’ experience maintaining range target systems.
Will stand upright for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to walk carrying tools and equipment.
