System One has an immediate need for a Project Engineer in Chattanooga, TN for a long-term contract with TVA.
Job Summary / Purpose:
Plans develops, coordinates, leads, and directs the performance of one or more large and important projects or a number of smaller projects with complex features.
This position will support the AOV and MOV projects which have a defined scope and completion date.
The incumbent is also responsible for providing leadership for a work team in this area.
The work more specifically includes:
Responsible for the business as well as the technical aspects of the entire project.
Business responsibilities include, but not limited to, budget, schedule, cost analysis and forecasting, work planning, monitoring and controlling expenditures, and change control.
Technical responsibilities include performing as lead engineer on projects which the incumbent serves as project engineer as well as on other projects.
Leads a project team including all engineering disciplines, project controls, engineering consultants, production, and others performing work or supporting the project.
Ensures that valid requirements are identified and satisfied, assists in the approval process, approves project change results within approved project limits, allocates contingency, ensures that start-up and turnover are conducted satisfactorily, and conducts lessons learned reviews at project completion.
Performs or directs the performance of mechanical engineering work, reviews the work of lower grade engineers, technicians, and engineering consultants.
Work consists of the full range of engineering including analysis, design, procurement, technical contract administration, support of construction, and start-up.
May provide administrative and technical supervision to engineers and support personnel.
Education and Experience / Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements:
Master of Science or Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. EIT certificate, or PE, is desirable.
