Coordinate and perform duties for execution of field activities in both 235-F and FH Lab Projects. Work with F-Area Operations Management in accomplishing activities related to the layup and deactivation of facilities no longer needed in F Area. This person is the equivalent of a First Line supervisor who follows work in the field to ensure it is performed correctly per procedure or work package.
Primary responsibilities include overall coordination of work including providing Pre-job briefings, review of procedures, work packages, lockouts, and RWPs as appropriate, providing oversite of deactivation work being performed, ensuring waste is properly disposed of, and work is performed in a safe manner.
Observe personnel performing work to ensure verbatim procedure compliance, verbal repeat backs, HPI tools used properly and other Conduct of Operations procedures are followed as needed. Communicate concerns and issues observed to management, and other support personnel to ensure safe, effective conduct of operations. Perform administrative functions such as performing briefings to management and documenting observations in a report. There is the potential for infrequent overtime on off-shifts (e.g., occasional Friday work).
Operations support shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
High School Diploma Ten (10) years’ nuclear or industrial experience providing oversite to work performed in the field is required.
Experience with disciplined operations, including Conduct of Operations is preferred.
Ability to perform walk downs and follow work in radiological areas is required.
Operations or Maintenance experience working in a radiological environment is required.
Experience as a SR. Operations Support Specialist is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clear, concise, and accurate reports, evaluations, documents, procedures,
Reviews, comment resolutions, email and oral presentations.
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Workweek excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has a 30-minute unpaid lunch. There is the potential for infrequent overtime on off-shifts.
Area Security Access:
No need to obtain a DOE clearance, work will be performed in F Area and no clearance needed.
