BHI Energy - Staffing Solutions Group (SSG) is accepting applicants today to speak with an SSG Recruiter to discuss Spring 2021 Fossil Outages.

Construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries including heat exchangers. Clean the internals of boilers, steam chests, condenser hot wells and heat exchangers. Inspect and repair boiler fittings, hatches, man ways, heat exchangers, hot well structures and expansion joints.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Bolt or arc-weld pressure vessel structures and parts together, using wrenches and welding equipment.
2.Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and vats to locate defects such as leaks, weak spots, and defective sections so that they can be repaired.
3.Inspect assembled vessels and individual components, such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms, to locate any defects.
4.Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in drums of water tube boilers, using hand tools.
5.Install refractory bricks and other heat-resistant materials in fireboxes of pressure vessels.
6.Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal, and locate and mark bending and cutting lines, using protractors, compasses, and drawing instruments or templates.
7.Position, align, and secure structural parts and related assemblies to boiler frames, tanks, or vats of pressure vessels, following blueprints.
8.Study blueprints to determine locations, relationships, and dimensions of parts.
9.Clean pressure vessel equipment, using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents.
10.Perform other related duties as required.
An ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and vocational school training in the field. Connecticut Boilermakers State License. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are required.
Must be able to effectively work with a variety of personnel to include external customers and clients, and internal personnel. Must actively demonstrate the company values and support the ethics standards. Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity and trust.
Knowledge of BHI Energy processes and procedures and utilization of developed tools to most effectively manage work is essential. Must actively demonstrate the BHI company values and support the BHI Ethics and Standards.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of BHI and client technical manuals and procedures; to pass BHI and client specific training and qualifications as required; subject to personnel call out as required in support of nuclear station emergent work requirements; to work overtime, to include shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed; and be able to pass all background and screening requirements for the position, to include drug and/or alcohol screening.
