Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 12+ years project integration and management experience to include construction, project controls, and engineering.
TNEPSC (Tennessee Erosion Prevention/Sediment Control) Level 1 Certification
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors the performance of work to ensure it is done in accordance with cost, schedules, contractual and client requirements. Contributes to the achievement of market development goals. Provides organization leadership. Ensures adherence to company policies, standards and procedures and governmental regulations Resolves conflicts or controversy to facilitate meeting established company objectives Responsible for direction or performance of Project Operations staff activities, including development of departmental procedures and standard project procedures; or responsible for providing expertise in specific area of Project Management such as Prime Contract Administration, Including support to Project Managers and Business Development in prime contract negotiations and administration JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated ability and knowledge to effectively manage the type of project (s) that they are accountable for. Knowledge and experience includes, but is not limited to: construction methods, engineering, estimating, equipment, materials, contract administration, subcontractor management, claim negotiations, project controls, labor relations, finance, manpower development and utilization and the development and maintenance of client and competition contacts Knowledge of and experience in all aspects of Project Management and Project Control activities. Expertise In a specific phase of Project Management, such as Prime Contract formation and administration. Experience in budgeting and financial plans. Knowledge of UCOR Organization, Directives and Instructions. Experience in development and coordination of training programs. Knowledge of all project functions. Demonstrated ability in preparation of procedures and reports.
Coordinates Project Operations staff activities; or serves on the Project Operations staff as an expert on a specific area of Project Management, such as prime contract formation, modification and administration. Works with other division functions to establish standard, effective project planning, measurement and control techniques; or develops systems and procedures for prime contract administration and, on request, provides specialized assistance to the Project Managers in carrying out their responsibilities in this area; or, on request, provides a similar specialized service to the members of the Project Operations Department. Works with other UCOR entities to achieve consistency of standard Project Manuals and control tools. When requested, provides support Corporate, as required for proposals or contract negotiations. Assists in formulation and administration of programs for overall staffing, development and training of Project Management personnel. Prepares and maintains operating plans and administers basic and programmed overhead budgets. Prepares project work plans and budgets for Project Managers, as requested. Coordinates departmental meetings. Drafts and maintains Project Operations Procedures as needed. Performs career counseling, performance evaluations and recommends salary actions, as required. Processes employee status change notices and personnel actions. Provides staff assistance to the Manager, Division Project Operations, and Manager of Projects or Project Managers, as assigned.
