GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Consultant, Readiness and Startup to join our team at the Hanford Site in Richland, WA, which provides integral mission support to the DOE. The ideal candidate has experience providing technical support to DOE sites and experience with the execution of DOE Order 425.1D in the startup of nuclear facilities. They need to be able to professionally maintain direct interface with senior management and work to achieve readiness and verify readiness to safely operate complex high risk nuclear facilities.
This position will serve the Hanford Site and the DOEs Office of River Protection in Richland, WA.

Provide Readiness support for the Tank Farms (TF) and Program Division (TPD).
Plan strategic activities required for DOE Hanford Site to achieve readiness and verify readiness for nuclear operations.
Assist DOE Hanford Site staff and management in conduct of activities to achieve readiness and verify readiness to safely conduct nuclear operations.
Provide technical support for Facility Startup and Restart activities for TF.
Assist with review of contractor procedures, processes, and activities to implement DOE Order 425.
Provide professional counsel on implementation of a Readiness Program by Line Management.
Promote coordination between all relevant functions related to Readiness in DOE Hanford Tank Farms to safely conduct nuclear operations.
Assist AMTF project teams with activities to prepare for readiness.
Conduct oversight of the Tank Farm contractors readiness program.
Provide assessment reports, metrics reports, correspondence memoranda, and key documents required by DOE directives.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or Business Management.
15+ years of relevant experience with at least 5+ years of directly applicable experience consulting on complex projects, including providing strategic, management, technical, or business assistance in a senior capacity and/or as a consultant.
o Years of relevant specialized experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with the execution of DOE Order 425.1D (Verification of Readiness to Startup or Restart Nuclear Facilities) in the startup of nuclear facilities.
Experience working in key positions to achieve and verify readiness to safely operate complex high risk nuclear facilities.
Experience directly interfacing with senior management.
Knowledge of DOE orders, standards, policies, and procedures providing requirements and guidance for safe startup of nuclear facilities.
Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities.
Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and contractor assurance and corrective action management.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain proficiencies in the following through periodic training HGET and Tank Farms unescorted access training.
Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
