GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a CNC Machinist & Programmer to join our team at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA. The ideal candidate has an active DOE “Q” clearance and has inspection experience with Quindos 6/7, Q7CAD, and I++ Simulator.
This position will serve the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsible for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programming for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Provide associated work instructions and shop floor support, including troubleshooting.
Interact with individual or multidiscipline teams of design, manufacturing, and quality personnel in production areas.
Work with varying disciplines to determine best design practices for manufacturing, process plans, equipment set-up requirements, tooling requirements, programming needs, and schedule commitments.
Provide support for transition from a drawing centric to model centric manufacturing environment.
Incorporate software and programming strategies for advanced inspection techniques.
Utilize 3-D CAD as product definition will be provided in various formats including paper and electronic models.
Use both paper and electronic formats to generate information required to support NC program generation, post-processing, and shop floor download.
Provide software quality assurance support, including user testing, for new and existing software systems.
Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience.
o Years of relevant project experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Specific inspection experience with Quindos 6/7, Q7CAD, and I++ Simulator is required.
Previous knowledge and usage of CAD.
Previous federal experience is highly preferred.
Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
Due to nature of work, candidates must have an active DOE “Q” Clearance or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance.
