ReNuke Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer at our client site in Oak Ridge, TN. This project engineer is needed for the EMDF/OSWDF project support.
• Directs and coordinates engineering activities for the project or assigned portion including supervision of engineers of all disciplines.
• Establishes or assists in establishing the detailed project execution plan and the development of the overall project engineering budget and schedule.
• Develops design and procurement schedules for approval.
• Coordinate’s engineering effort with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) and Project Controls when assigned.
• Reviews and approves design documents, change orders, material requisitions and specifications for construction or procurement use.
• Supervises the preparation of, reviews and endorses bid analyses and recommendations for procurement of equipment material and services within Engineering’s scope of responsibility.
• Visits jobsite as required for exchange of information.
• Coordinates activities among the design groups on multiple concurrent projects.
• Initiates requests for specialized professional services.
• Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to client, project and functional management as directed and as appropriate.
• Professional Engineer License strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline required.
• 15+ years of relevant experience required.
• Advanced degree in engineering and/or business strongly preferred.
• Experience at DOE Environmental Management and/or NNSA facilities.
• Experience managing capital projects with outside A&E firm(s) providing design services.
• Experience in design and construction of radiological waste disposal and/or treatment facilities.
• Possess or have ability to obtain a "Q" clearance but is not required to apply.
• Functional with MS Word, Excel and Outlook software.

• Assists with the establishment and implementation of project manpower needs and

• Identifies and ensures compliance with regulatory, licensing and state requirements.
• Conducts the design of a technically sound, safe and operable plant with a high degree of reliability.
• Creates the optimum balance between design plant costs and costs of service.
• Prepares and issues Engineering Execution Plans (EXP), and ensures that all necessary
and appropriate client requirements, procedures and standards are incorporated.
• Compiles lists from each discipline to develop master document list for project.
• Develops plan to support procurement of all engineered items to be purchased for project.

• Works with Materials Management and Construction to develop subcontract and work.
package descriptions that are consistent with the contracting plan for the project.
• Coordinate’s development of work-hour estimates and transfers information to Project Controls
for preparation of engineering cost estimate.
• Cooperates with other departments in the company participating on the project.
• Schedules and coordinates meetings between Project Engineering, the client and other
outside groups.
• Keeps Project Manager, Manager of Engineering, Chief Discipline Engineers, Principal
Engineers and/or Supervising Discipline Engineers advised of project progress, performance and
manpower utilization with particular attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions.
• Assures proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc. that affect the conduct of the project.
• Coordinates the client’s engineering comments, approvals and requests with the functional
activities of all disciplines.
• Requests the employment of expert consultants when deemed necessary for the project.
• Encourages and assists in the technical and managerial development of subordinates.
• Coordinates Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management of selected architecture, engineering and design documents.
• Review’s engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with
conceptual design and completeness of engineering tasks.
• Promptly reviews Design Change Notices (DCN), identifies change order candidates, segregates.
cost collection and assists the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management.
• Complies with company’s safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies.
• Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training.
• Fully understands the role of each functional area within the company.
• Conforms to company core values and assists others to adhere to them.
• Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.
• Expresses ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others.

• Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
• Proficient knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
• Proficient knowledge on planning, application and coordination of CAD design processes
• Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline.
