[Electrical Designer] Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity - Must have Nuclear Experience

United is actively looking for a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer with strong technical and interpersonal skills to work on complex and challenging projects supporting the Fermi Nuclear Power Plant, located at the UECI Field Office in Newport, MI.

Position Description
Candidate will be working as part of a team of Engineers and Designers at the DTE Fermi Nuclear Power Plant working on modification packages.

Candidate must complete complex engineering assignments including preparation of
packages that include specifications and data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant drawings; provide support to proposals, prepare purchase requisitions; review vendor drawings and develop cost and budget estimates and schedules and scope of work documents.

Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical or Controls Engineering from a 4 year accredited university with course work in
electrical power systems, energy conversion or control systems
8 years overall experience in design of electrical or control systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
6 years of experience relating to design or operation of commercial Nuclear Power Plants
3 years of experience in design of modification packages for Nuclear Plants in the U.S.

Must be able to obtain unescorted access to a Nuclear Power Plant

Experience to include:
Preparation of equipment specifications for plant electrical / control y systems.
Experience evaluating and specifying pressure, temperature, flow, and level process instrumentation
Experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics, P&IDs,
logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc.
Experience performing calculations for a Nuclear plant such as instrument set-point and electrical systems analysis

Must have strong skills in the following areas:
Written and oral communications skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment

Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. in Electrical or Controls Engineering
Field experience / Walk-downs on power projects
Experience in application and setting of protective relays
PE License in any State with ability to be licensed in Michigan by Comity
Experience preparing specifications for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers
(PLCs) and review of associated logic diagrams and system functional descriptions.
Familiarity with NEI 08-09 and experience with performing cyber-security assessments
