Engineering Technologist 1
Uses the principles and theories of engineering, math and science to solve technical problems within discipline in support of engineering and engineering research. Supports engineering/projects in the performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent judgment. Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facilities, design, operation, maintenance, project and/or research-based engineering. May provide direction to technicians. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Utilizes engineering and computer technology to accomplish work. Continuously improves work processes to meet customer needs. Design Experience
Experience designing mechanical hardware assemblies and applying engineering concepts to mechanical designs. Working knowledge of ASME Y series design/drafting standards, including Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Experience with Creo Parametric 3D CAD Software.
Knowledge of fabrication processes, related equipment, hardware and materials.
Communication and Teamwork
Demonstrated effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated record of developing constructive, cooperative working relationships and working with teams to meet deliverables.
Position typically requires an associates degree in engineering, technology, science, math or related degree required; or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of degree requirement; and at least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Per diem is available but person must live greater than 100 miles from site.
