Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for an Electrical/I&C Engineer opportunity for our customer in Oak Ridge, TN to support the Transuranic Waste Treatment Center (TWPC).

JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking a Mid-Senior Level Electrical Engineer to join the design team at the Transuranic Waste Treatment Center (TWPC). In this role, the candidate will Independently complete engineering designs of electrical and control systems while working within a multi-discipline team of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, structural, and civil engineers. The candidate will report to the Design Engineering Manager and will be expected to perform duties following general instructions and directions of the Design Engineering Manager with minimal additional supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design of power distribution systems consisting of 600 volts or less (3-phase and single-phase) including grounding and lighting design
Develop grounding, lighting and cable/conduit lists and panel schedules
Provide electrical design for instrumentation and control systems including process instrumentation loops, control wiring diagrams and instrument specifications and lists
Develop various electrical calculations related to lighting, voltage drop, load sizing, arc flash potential, etc. to support designs
Develop various instrumentation and control calculations such as instrument and instrument control loop accuracy, etc.
Prepare reports, specifications, and bills of materials

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee work of one or more designers and drafters to ensure high-quality, accurate design deliverables are produced
Work with outside vendors to coordinate fabrication of prototypes, secure quotations, etc.
Review and work according to TWPC Operating Procedures
Develop test plans and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ engineering experience
Nuclear industry related experience with DOE related experience preferred
Current Licensed Professional Engineer
Familiar with national consensus codes/standards, e.g. NFPA 70, IEEE, etc.
AutoCAD experience desired
