Perform field verifications and walk downs of fire protection related equipment
ReNuke Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer at our client site in Oak Ridge, TN

DESCRIPTION
Meets the definition of Qualified Fire Protection Engineer in accordance with DOE
Meets the requirements for Professional Member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers

May assist other technical personnel in setting work priorities. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of scientific work, usually in one discipline, in a project or staff group. Performs work that involves conventional scientific practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting project requirements, unsuitability of approaches, and/or difficult coordination requirements. Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for equipment or programs. Coordinate’s specialist efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other specialty groups or disciplines, the client, suppliers, contractors, and divisional groups. When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other scientists for specific tasks or project sub-groups. Assist in on-the-job training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations. Prepares letters to vendors and clients. Conducts bid analyses and makes recommendations. Prepares or assists in preparation of studies, designs, reports or proposals. Reviews project controls, cost estimates, and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders. Reviews and checks work of subordinate specialists. Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.


QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, architecture or science or equivalent education, specific training, or experience in area of expertise, as approved by the pertinent Discipline Chief.
• 10+ years discipline experience in the area of expertise
• Perform field verifications and walk downs of fire protection related equipment
• Ability to prepare Transitional Fire Hazards Analysis and Fire Hazards Analysis in accordance with DOE Order 420.1C, Facility Safety.
• Knowledge of DOE Fire Protection Orders and Standards
• Knowledge of fire water systems and construction experience preferred
• D&D experience preferred
