[Electrical Engineer] Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

United Engineers & Constructors, Inc (UECI) is a full-service provider of engineering services for Electric Utilities, Power Generating Stations and Industrial Facilities. To support our growing business in these areas, we are looking for an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer with strong technical and interpersonal skills to work on complex and challenging projects. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of Engineers and Designers at our office in Ft. Mill, SC.

This position offers the ability to advance your technical skills by working on complex Instrumentation and Control new design/modification packages for Fossil or Nuclear generation projects.

Position Description:
Work will include engineering of revisions to existing plant control systems and process instrumentation.
Complete complex engineering assignments including preparation of work packages including DCS specifications, instrument data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant drawings;
Provide support to proposals, prepare purchase requisitions;
Review vendor drawings and develop cost and budget estimates, schedules and scope of work documents.
Candidate will attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns with the support of senior engineers to ensure the client is satisfied with our work product.

Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical or Controls Engineering from a 4 year accredited university with course work in electrical power systems, energy conversion or control systems
A minimum of 2 (5) years’ experience in design and modification of control systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities in North America.

Experience to include:
Ability to prepare finished technical reports, spreadsheets and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Experience working with others in a Project Team environment
Must be have ability to obtain unescorted access to a U.S. Nuclear Power Plant

Must have strong skills in the following areas:
Written and oral communications skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment

Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. in Electrical or Controls Engineering
Field experience / Walk-downs on power projects
Experience with application of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for control of plant process/auxiliary systems
Experience evaluating and specifying pressure, temperature, flow, level process instrumentation
Experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc.
Experience on Nuclear plants including familiarity with NEI 08-09, performing cyber security assessments, and preparation of modification packages
Training and experience using CAD software to revise and/or develop technical drawings. Software tools shall be AutoCAD, Microstation or equivalent
FE License (EIT)
