E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. Assist in the installation of new or repaired components and performs complex modifications of systems and components in accordance with applicable electrical publications and directives to include maintaining and repairing specialized laboratory equipment such as fume hoods, de-ionized water systems, bio-clean systems, vacuum systems, cascade refrigeration systems, and laboratory sinks.
Assist in performing complex repair of systems component such as compressors, condensers, heat pumps regulators, fluid and refrigerant gas lines valves, meters, gages, thermostats, pumps, mechanical linkage, and electrical sensing, switching, and controlling devices including pneumatic controls, variable speed drives, digital controlled devices, electronic, hydraulic heating and cooling and economizer systems.
Other duties as assigned to insure timely project execution.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
5 years commercial HVACR experience.
High school diploma or GED/TASC/ HiSET and specific training and thorough knowledge in the particular area of HVACR maintenance and installation
Must currently hold and maintain HVACR electrician card and refrigerant handling license in accordance with State or union rules.
Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Must demonstrate a good driving record (no significant violations such as DUI, loss of license, inability to obtain personal insurance or currently covered under a high-risk insurance policy, etc.).
Ability to understand verbal instructions
10 years commercial HVACR experience.
Associate degree in HVACR specialized technology, or a related field.
Broad knowledge of other disciplines such as energy management control systems, general math, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, biology, etc.
Knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws.
Conditions of Employment
Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-placement physical examination and medical history check.
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and have a clean motor vehicle report (MVR).
All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the IUOE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Able to work night, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical and Mental Demands:
Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling, working overhead, and carrying.
Constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, scissors lifts, JLG’s and other elevated platforms.
Most positions involve work in environments (e.g., projects, labs, outside locations, etc. where mechanical equipment, is being installed, tested, analyzed, monitored, or operated and / or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy and or have exposed moving components.
Integrated Safety Management:
Know and follow environment, safety, and health (ES&H) policies and procedures that apply to their job assignments.
Become knowledgeable of and maintain awareness of the ES&H hazards associated with their work. Perform work safely in accordance with hazard controls.
Report all unsafe operations, and, if necessary, exercise stop-work authority in cases of imminent danger.
Work only on those tasks in which they have the required competence, training, skills, and abilities so as to prevent injury to one’s self, employees, the public, or the environment.
Maintain active involvement in the introduction, revision, and/or promotion of ES&H/ISM program activities.
Hours of Work:
This is typically an 8 hour per day daylight schedule. Responding to callouts at night and on weekends or holidays as required, plus occasional weekend scheduled work assignments.
