Seeking a Sr Electrical Safety Specialist to meet programmatic and project requirements. This position will serve as the technical expert to advise and perform professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with electrical safety programs. This oversight role is conducted to ensure that Tank Farms is operating safely and the WTP safety programs are developed to support construction, start-up, and commissioning.
Evaluate electrical safety program descriptions, plans, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements.
Ensure that electrical safety training is adequate to develop qualified personnel.
Conduct routine field walk downs to ensure facilities meet electrical safety requirements and procedures.
Review documents, assessments, procedures, etc. to ensure they are adequate to support electrical safety program development and implementation at site facilities and readiness programs.
Deliverables shall include:
Review Comment Record forms for electrical safety document reviews.
Drill reports for observed field drills and exercises.
Operational Awareness entries and surveillance reports in the integrated contractor assurance system for contractor oversight, procedure reviews, design reviews, document reviews, field walk downs, etc. as assigned.
Provide field oversight of TF and WTP activities ensuring the contractor identifies and applies requirements that, when implemented, provide adequate safety, demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and demonstrate conformance with overall DOE safety performance standards and principles.
Conduct assessments and surveillance of the contractor electrical safety programs, according the DOE Hanford Site procedures.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC 2005 & 2017), Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E 2004, 2009, 2015, and 2018), electrical systems review (one-line diagrams) and power distribution systems.
Familiarity Level Knowledge of the Hanford Tank Farms, 222-S, and/or Waste Treatment & Immobilization Plan is preferred.
Consultant shall comply with all applicable escort and training requirements for the Tank Farms, 222-S, and WTP.
Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities.
