Position Summary:

Seeking a Project Manager with excellent communication skills, a professional manner, and multi-tasking ability to join RCRA Remediation team.

The successful candidate will be a forward thinking environmental professional with ability to interact with senior managers and subject matter experts on a variety of technical and programmatic issues.  The role requires interpretation of environmental radiological and chemical data and development of optimized recommendations that facilitate site completion and complies with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies.

This position reports to the RCRA Remediation Director.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

Lead the planning and execution of environmental remediation efforts.   This includes, but is not limited to, development of technical and programmatic strategies, integrated project planning, work scheduling and sequencing, risk analysis and risk management, and general project execution.

Work through integrated project teams including the regulatory support organization to identify and implement the appropriate path to achieve regulatory closure of each site.
Experience managing environmental remediation project scope, schedule, costs, and risks.
Prepare for and lead project meetings.
Provide technical leadership and expertise specifically in the subject matters related to RCRA environmental site characterization and remediation.
Develop and propose DOE and regulatory deliverables.
Develop scopes of work and schedules for self-performed and subcontracted work.
Support development and review of project documents.
Coordinate and conduct project Preparedness Reviews for both subcontracted and self-performed activities.
Coordinate and support project meetings with DOE EM-LA, TRIAD, New Mexico Environment Department and stakeholders.
Support environmental project reviews.
Manage quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

Experience in leading integrated project teams and stakeholders to identify and implement the appropriate path to achieve regulatory closure of each site.
Experience managing project scope, schedule, costs, and risks; including knowledge and experience in Earned Value Management Systems.
Prepare for and lead project meetings.
Excellent technical leadership and expertise specifically in the subject matters related to RCRA environmental site characterization and remediation.
Develop and propose DOE and regulatory deliverables for assigned projects.
Excellent writing and planning ability to develop scopes of work, project documents, and schedules for self-performed and subcontracted work.
Coordinate and conduct project Preparedness Reviews for both subcontracted and self-performed activities.
Coordination and communication skills to lead and facilitate project meetings with EM-LA, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Lead environmental project reviews.
Knowledge and experience in landfill/disposal area plan development - including landfill gas collection and control, cover system design/construction, closure plan development, and geotechnical assessment.
Skill and ability to perform critical strategic tasks and to interpret broad strategic and technical requirements and develop and execute plans to satisfy them.
Effective interpersonal skills (e.g., ability to lead a team, work as part of a team, communicate effectively, work/interact effectively and amicably with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and with diverse personal attributes).
Effective communication skills (i.e., ability to present ideas effectively in formal and informal situations and convey thoughts clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing).
Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
