Microelectronics Equipment Technologist/STI 1615

Spectra Tech is seeking an experienced Microelectronics Equipment Technologist in Albuquerque, NM.

Develops, builds, modifies, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of microelectronic semiconductor testing tools for wafer
probe and package part testing. Will be working in a laboratory setting monitoring equipment and working proactively to maintain the facility’s capability. May also support the development of novel diagnostics and their implementation.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

Plan and perform a variety of duties to maintain the capability and readiness of a set of semiconductor electrical test equipment.
Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
Develop, evaluate, and work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Operate related equipment, conduct tests, and report data in a prescribed format.
Specify and perform calibrations and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as needed.
Analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures to meet desired specifications.
Handle equipment support contracts and evaluates the work of vendor equipment support personnel.

Qualifications We Require (Minimum Qualifications):
• High School Diploma plus five (5) or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q Clearance

Qualifications We Desire (Desired Qualifications):
• Ability to lift 35+ lbs.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and repair semiconductor electrical test equipment related to wafer probe and package part testing
• Strong communication skills, work independently with minimal guidance, and work collaboratively as part of a team and interact constructively with others
• Awareness of engineering principles and basic technical responsibilities, including design and systems technology
• Practical understanding of electronic theory and principles
• Previous experience in a R&D environment
• Training and certification in Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Software Programs
• Familiarity with all safety requirements relevant to semiconductor equipment work (e.g. lockout tag out, pressure and electrical safety, chemical safety)
• Active DOE L or Q security clearance
