Duties and Responsibilities
Provide Design Authority Engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include:
1) Establishing Technical Requirements by developing System Design Descriptions (SDD) and reviewing design packages from design agencies.
2) Provide agencies with technical input on design changes required during design phases.
3) Planning, Walkdowns and Construction Support as requested to assure that equipment and material meet the specification requirements.
Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.
Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering
Twenty-five (25) years of Mechanical Engineering experience (within the last 30 years) in the nuclear or chemical process industry.
Working knowledge of HVAC & ventilation structures, systems, and components.
Experience analyzing and evaluating ventilation system performance for improvement opportunities.
Experience in troubleshooting system deficiencies to recommend resolution.
Experience in analyzing electrical instrumentation & control requirements.
Able to walk down systems in the field and support nonconformance issues in real time.
Knowledge of HVAC modelling software/systems.
Previous DOE facility experience.
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance
