UDR Consulting Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Engineer / Coatings opportunity for our customer in Aiken, SC to support the Savannah River Site.

DUTIES
Provide Design Authority Engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include:
Provide specifications for coatings on masonry and metal surfaces that will withstand radiation and/or a variety of gaseous environments throughout the design life of the SRPPF facility.
Review written requirements and specifications for coatings designed to coat masonry and metal surfaces that will withstand radiation and/or a variety of gaseous environments
Perform walkdowns and support construction as requested to assure that coatings as applied meet the specification requirements.

Programmatic guidance and Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.

EDUCATION
BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering and/or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering

Experience:
Candidate must demonstrate 5 years of Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry and possess a strong working knowledge of coatings for harsh environments.
Candidate must be able to walk down systems in the field and support nonconformance issues in real time.
Candidate must have strong technical writing and communication skills.
Knowledge of Industrial Coatings is required.
Nuclear work experience is preferred
Previous SRS Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.

Work Hours:
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Workweek excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch unpaid

Area Security Access: Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years are preferred.
