We are looking for a Environmental Engineer with the following qualifications:

Position Purpose:
Function as environmental regulatory multi-grade technical support located at the Radioactive Waste Management Complex (RWMC) and/or the Idaho Nuclear Technology and Engineering Center (INTEC). Duties include providing general environmental compliance support in all areas of environmental compliance including identification of regulatory requirements, review of work control documentation and implementation of environmental requirements, environmental regulatory issue evaluation and resolution, coordination with project, facility, Environmental Services management, Legal, DOE, and regulatory agencies related to complex regulatory issues and implementation. Performance of various assessments In support of environmental compliance assurance for the Environmental Services Organization, and other implementation activities supportive of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Performs regulatory inspections. In addition, supports other areas of Idaho Environmental Coalition in technical review and implementation of other environmental regulatory requirements as needed.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):
Bachelors degree in science or engineering

Special Requirements/Training (Optional):
OSHA 40 hr HazWoper. RadWorker

Environmental, Safety, and Health Statement:
Must be familiar with, and comply with, all relevant health and safety requirements. Must be knowledgeable of emergency action policies and procedures, methods for reporting/resolving unsafe work practices or conditions to available cognizant professionals.

Additional ES&H Requirements:
Knows and complies with environmental, safety, health, and pollution prevention regulations, policies, and procedures for this position. Ensures own safety and safety of coworkers. Reports unsafe work conditions to immediate manager.
Ensures that the five core functions of the Integrated Safety Management System are understood and applied when performing job duties. Ensures that operational excellence is achieved through appropriate implementation of conduct of operations.

Position Responsibilities:
The breakdown of tasking into significant components is essential to determine the exemption status of this position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This form is considered incomplete if this section is left blank, regardless of attached documents.
* Serves as environmental regulatory technical support located at the RWMC and/or INTEC for development and coordiantion of regulatory strategies and compiance activities and serves as interface with regulatory agencies and DOE-ID 25%
* Assists project managers and Project Environmental Lead in providing technical oversight, directions, and acceptance of environmental regulatory work performed and provide guidance and direction of other Environmental Compliance personnel supporting RWMC and/or INTEC 25%
* Cognizant of all environmental regulatory issues related to work planning, design and execution and ensure that all environmental requirements are addressed and implemented in accordance with apprioriate laws, regulations, policies, procedures, practices, environmental design criteria, permits, and DOE Directives 20%
* Prepare and/or review project deliverables to ensure the completeness and technical quality of the environmental requirements addressed 10%
* Coordinate with Project Environmental Leads on items and issues that could affect other Projects. 10%
* Performs inspections and assist with outside agency regulatory inspections and assessments by DOE. 10%
