Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include design authority activities (design requirements, design review, establishing quality level for procurement, etc.) for the foundry or pyro-chemistry furnaces in support of the SRPPF project. Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 15 years design experience in the nuclear industry with emphasis on experience working with or designing casting furnaces or pyrochemical furnaces for use in a nuclear application. Process development and analysis experience is also required. Candidate must be able to present results in clear concise written documents. Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions.
2D Microstation CADD Experience is preferred.
Previous SRS and/or DOE experience is preferred.
A forty (40) hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Workweek excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
