Emergency Planning Analyst

HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities.
We are looking for qualified candidates to perform the following:

Support the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) Nuclear & Criticality Safety Engineering (N&CSE) organization in the development of emergency preparedness documentation for various nuclear facilities at the Savannah River Site (SRS). As a Junior Emergency Planning Analyst (SGL 30 – Engineer/Scientist), primary duties are to participate in the development, preparation, and/or review of All-Hazards Surveys, Emergency Planning Hazards Assessments (EPHAs) and related technical documents. This includes participating in planning and hazards analysis meetings, developing accident analyses using barrier analysis (i.e., failure of engineered barrier, failure of administrative barrier or control), and performing Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) and Emergency Action Level (EAL) evaluations. This may also include performing consequence assessments using the ALOHA, HotSpot, or related computer codes.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Degree in applicable Science or Engineering discipline. PhD with relevant experience, Master’s degree (MS preferred)with relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree (BS preferred) and 2 years relevant work experience required. (Alternate degrees will be considered when combined with significant relevant experience.)
Previous relevant experience at SRS is preferred
Experience in using ALOHA or HotSpot is preferred.
Prior experience providing nuclear safety support to facilities in the Department of Energy (DOE) complex or nuclear industry is required.
Prior experience with implementation of DOE O 151.1C/151.1D Comprehensive Emergency Management System and/or its implementing Guide DOE G 151.1-2 Technical Planning Basis is required.
Prior experience reviewing or developing EPHAs and/or All-Hazards Surveys is required.
Active “L” or “Q” security clearance within past two years is preferred.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
