[Editor] Principal Multimedia Specialist

General Responsibilities:
1) Be proficient in all aspects of photo and video editing and production, from operating camera and video equipment to video engineering, audio, and lighting to deliver high caliber videos (and photos).
2) Design and produce various multimedia programs which may include one or more of the following: animation, graphics, video, and podcast in technical, educational, or promotional information systems depending upon the individual assignment.
3) Collaborates with SRPPF customers regarding needs and offers guidance regarding video and graphic capabilities and appropriateness of design decisions.
4) Consults with and advises customers regarding production schedules and potential visual impacts of various media production technologies and techniques.
5) Collaborate with other specialists, including trainers, graphic designers, and photographers to incorporate their work into final video productions.
6) Apply closed captioning to all video productions in support of accessibility; also attach relevant metadata and captions for indexing.
7) Manage and organize a vast library of media using a digital asset management system.
8) Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
9) Complete and balance multiple projects demonstrating strong conceptual and analytical skills, planning abilities, and sound judgment.
10) Must be familiar with current digital best practices and be able to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
11) Apply visual design best practice principles to the design and development of static and interactive elements (graphics, videos, animations, interactive simulations, etc.), while maintaining company branding/graphics standards.
12) Other duties as assigned.

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years are preferred.
