We are looking for a Project Superintendent with the following qualifications:

Job Description
The purpose of this position, Project Superintendent, is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, various management responsibilities associated with the Savannah River Site (SRS). This subcontractor shall provide experience in the design and construction of nuclear, civil, and industrial facilities and possess the necessary skills to plan and direct the execution of the construction work. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.

Job Description
Under very limited supervision, performs in a senior role in the design and construction of nuclear, civil, and industrial facilities and possess the necessary skills to plan and direct the execution of the construction work. As a key member of the Construction team and the lead craft superintendent on the project, the Project Superintendent must lead the project efforts to plan and safely execute required construction work. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Duties (not inclusive)
• Overall responsibility for craft worker safety on the project implementing the project safety philosophy
• Supervise all direct hire Superintendents assigned to the project
• Allocate craft workers to specific work assignments on the project
• Approve project direct hire work practices
• Set and meet project cost and schedule targets
• Coordinate direct hire work activities with subcontractor work activities
• Ensure construction site cleanliness and housekeeping requirements are met
• Ensure the quality of the work performed meets requirements
• Monitor quantity reporting process
• Monitor and control construction equipment utilization and maintenance
• Ensure that site rigging work activities meet safety and site-specific requirements
• Develop a plan for project transportation services
• Develop (with assistance from project controls) forecast labor unit rates, Project distributable rates, and construction equipment costs for the project
• Monitor and resolve craft jurisdictional assignments
• Monitor and control work activities and craft timesheet approval process
• Monitor and control Supt/General Foreman/Foreman and Foreman/Worker ratios on the project
• Monitor and control tool usage on the site
• Review the project design and identify potential changes which will improve the constructability of the work
• Ensure that project automation tools are being effectively used by supervision and craft workers on the project
• Approve craft staffing plans for the work to be performed
• Approve project schedules and work plans for the work to be performed
• Monitor and control the performance of Area/Discipline WorkFace Planning Team(s) with assistance from Area Superintendents/field engineering/planners, superintendents, and CDI team; participate in, implement, and positively influence the Advanced Work Packaging program as it pertains to the Construction WorkFace.
• Monitor actual work performance against the project budget and schedule
• Approve construction craft work performance and special skills input
• Approve the layout of required temporary construction facilities for the project
• Establish a working relationship and lines of communication with Area Superintendents, Project Field Engineer, Advanced Work Package Manager, Field Subcontracts and Procurement Manager, Construction Safety Manager, Construction QA Manager, Construction Services Manager, and other key supervisors on the project
• Develop craft training plan for the project
• Ensure that required design information is available to the crafts when needed
• Monitor the use of calibrated measuring and test equipment on the project
• Approve Project Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensure that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive
• Identify construction critical items that have the potential of impacting the work schedule
• Develop and implement a plan for system and area turnovers that coordinates the activities of all craft disciplines (in coordination with field engineering)
• Monitor project compliance with the Environmental Control Plan
• Monitor jobsite work rule compliance

Background and Experience
The incumbent must have a bachelor’s degree with minimum of 15 years (or meet education equivalency requirements) directly related experience in the design and construction of nuclear, civil, and industrial facilities and possess the necessary skills to plan and direct the execution of the construction work. A working knowledge of unionized labor construction and labor relations is essential. Previous experience directly supervising craft and superintendents, and subcontractors on large, and/or mega-project size projects with greater than 500 craft is desired. Knowledge of large demolition projects is desired. Expert knowledge of all aspects of all aspects of construction such as: technology, equipment, means and methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost/labor control, scheduling, and safety requirements. The ability to read and understand multi-discipline construction drawings and specifications programs, as necessary.
Ability to communicate with managers and professionals to negotiate, advise, and persuade on expeditious use of services.

Estimated duration: The period of performance shall be for a period of one year from award of this agreement.
