[Electrical Technician] Electrical Technician - Valve Team

Performs work related to the maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of plant equipment as a member of the Integrated Valve Team.


• Performs maintenance, inspections, repair, testing, and troubleshooting on actuator and valve equipment.

• Repairs valves, actuators, and any subcomponents to the valve and/or actuator.

• Implements and performs preventive maintenance on plant valve equipment.

• Identifies problems, defects, and failures that degrade component and system integrity and reliability.

• Assists Engineering with testing and evaluations. Performs skilled work involving valve diagnostic testing to properly setup of valves and diagnose any potential anomalies within the valve or actuator.

• Performs technical reviews of procedures and other plant documents.

• Serves as a member of the ENS Integrated Valve Team Outage Organization / Shared Resourcing.

• Must be willing to be crossed trained in all aspects of valve repair and diagnostics. Including

AOV, MOV, and internal valve repair.


Minimum education required of the position

High School Diploma/GED

Desired: Related vocational, trade school, apprentice program, or equivalent military training.

Minimum experience required of the position

Desired: 2 years of electrician experience or 2 years of nuclear experience. Experience in nuclear power plant maintenance.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations. Desired: Ability to make semitechnical calculations involving the electrical area. Ability to disassembly, repair, calibrate, setup, and test valves, actuators, and positioners. Must be knowledgeable in Nuclear power plant maintenance to include: rigging and material handling, electrical terminations, torqueing, diagnostic testing, and valve actuator instrument calibrations. Must have the ability to read prints, verbal and written comprehension, and the ability to troubleshoot and then repair valve equipment.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Successful completion of the EEI MASS test.

ANSI/ANS Qualifications

CAUTION: Candidates for this position must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines as shown below. In addition, site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements. Refer to EN-HR-137.

Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978. SBI Section 4.5.3-Maintenance Personnel standard. Individual must also possess the following certification(s) for valve and actuator rebuilds, and diagnostic testing at Level II or Senior level.
