[Software Engineer] Software Developer 3 (Systems) - LANL - 6344

Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Software Developer 3 (Systems) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Location: Remote and Onsite opportunities available (TA-35 and TA-55)
Available Positions: 2

Summary

Supports software applications and systems by investigating, designing, documenting and implementing new hardware and software. Works with customers and end users to understand requirements, coordinate resources, monitor timeline, and plan, track, and execute project plan. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates work processes. Prepares concepts for information system solutions and evaluates the cost-effectiveness of these concepts.

Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Frequently contributes to the development and/or implementation of new technical standards and methods. Considered an expert in the field. Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Work is accomplished without considerable direction and/or coordinates activities of other personnel. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment, and determines the methods and procedures needed for new assignments.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Knowledge of hardware and operating systems (Unix/Linux server platforms) including system architectures, network infrastructures,
Demonstrated knowledge of application development and implementation, including one or more of the following: Java, Oracle, Python, PL/SWL, SQL*Plus, or XML.
Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle Application Framework experience preferred, but Oracle experience needed.
Knowledge and/or experience with implementing open-source software.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing team-based environment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Q Clearance
Education/Experience:

Position requires a bachelorís degree and a minimum eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.
