[Computer Engineer] Network Professional 2 (Cisco/Juniper) - LANL - 6368

Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Network Professional 2 (Cisco/Juniper) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Work Location: 100% Onsite, TA-60
Organization/Group: NIE-TS (9WTS0A)
Work Schedule: Will include occasional nights
Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain "Q" Level

Job Requirements:

Experience configuring and installing Cisco & Arista switches and routers.
Experience with creating / modifying network Diagrams (Visio, Office)
Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining network monitoring tools and applications.
Cisco Certifications / Juniper Certifications
Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining network devices
Experience using network management tools, including viewing / creating alarms, configuration management and troubleshooting syslog information
Education:

Position typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Cisco and Juniper Certifications Preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Designs and implements the Laboratories internal data communications systems, including local-area networks (LANs) and/or wide-area networks (WANs). Plans, designs, and implements networked systems, including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, bridges, concentrators and switches. Works on project implementation. Provides training and assists with proposal writing. Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of specialized area plus working knowledge of other related fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of organizationís goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Determines approach to solutions, plans schedule and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
