Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. The Life Safety Systems Engineering unit at Naval Reactors Facility is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer. This position will involve facility systems management, engineering evaluations, and project engineering support and development. This position offers a blended mix of both short and long-term tasks and will involve a variety of fire protection work including: identify and analyze fire hazards, oversee proper installation and maintenance of fire detection, suppression, and communication systems, upgrade to more effective systems and equipment, and resolution of fire code deficiencies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.
Radiation Worker

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working in the fire protection field, authoring Fire Hazard Analyses, and performing life cycle management assessments.
