Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Engineer for Design Review (CLIN01) opportunity for our customer in Aiken, SC to support the Savannah River Site.
Per diem for those who qualify.
Principal Engineer for Design Review (CLIN01)
Clearance required – Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q"
US citizenship required – Yes

The purpose of this position, Principal Engineer, is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project. This subcontractor shall provide experience in advanced engineering techniques, design reviews, and analyses for problems and methods associated with the SRPPF. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
Provide support as a Principal Engineer to the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Review and comment on design output documents for structural wall removal.
Write a Formal Design Review Report
Participate on a Formal Design Review Team
Subcontractor shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Subcontractor is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.
Experience / Skills
Direct design engineering experience in one or more of the traditional engineering disciplines is required. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, or Structural Engineering is preferred. Also Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering will be considered.
Ability to work independently and within a multi-discipline team.
WORK HOURS: Work schedule will be a nominal 40-hour work week but can be part-time or with interruption between on-site requirements dependent on the support requirements necessary for the project. It is estimated that each standard year will consist of two-thousand and eighty hours.
SECURITY: An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
