[Instrumentation Engineer] Instrumentation and Controls (PLC)

Scope
The focus of this work supports the design and startup of the melter system and more specifically programming of control loops, creating user interfaces for operations, supporting instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, as well as interfacing with PNNL staff in and outside of the laboratory. Hybrid work may be acceptable for a portion of this effort. The list of duties includes the following:
Support design of instrumentation and control system architecture of a research scale vitrification system,
Perform PLC programming including design and programming of PID loops,
Create the HMI interface screens,
Support instrumentation troubleshooting,
Support plant startup and commissioning, and
Interface with PNNL staff.
3. Required Skills:
Experience in the development of industrial control software and hardware systems.
Exceptional communicator with both technical and nontechnical audiences
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Demonstrated support for vitrification systems design startup and commissioning desired.
4. Period of Performance:
Date of Award through September 30, 2023
5. Work location:
This is a hybrid position with support on the PNNL campus as required.
