Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Civil Engineer opportunity for our customer in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania to support the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.

Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory is a U.S. Government-owned research and development facility in the Pittsburgh suburb of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.

Location: Onsite - Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory (40% Teleworking)
Duration: 5 Years
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a DOE L Clearance
Experience: 0-5 Years

Job Description:
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy ' s submarine and aircraft fleet. The Bettis Site is located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, and is one of five locations operated by NNL. The site consists of multiple buildings, structures, and systems that are utilized to meet the mission of supporting the United States Nuclear Fleet.

Our customer has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer for the Bettis Site in support of the United States Nuclear Fleet. In this position, you are responsible for locating, marking, and documenting underground utility lines. The majority of the work being performed will be in the field and require strong research skills in order to find various utilities efficiently. Direct experience with utilities, located above ground and underground, is preferable, but not mandatory for this position. The chosen candidate will work in parallel with a utility locating company that will be performing the positive identification portion of the work.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor ' s degree in Civil Engineering
Proven working experience in civil engineering
Proficient in the comprehension of facility mechanical systems
Working production software skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD
Ability to maintain and update current as-built drawing database
Strong research skills
Strong communication skills
Work collaboratively with project teams
Work in compliance with company policies and procedures
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing civil systems and products
Utility or surveying experience
Experience working on federal projects
Ability to communicate project status to various internal and external parties
Understanding government regulations and ordinances.
Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met
Ability to read construction drawings
