Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Telecommunication/Networking Engineer opportunity for our customer in Greenville, SC or Houston, TX to support a DOE Construction Design Project.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Telecommunication/Networking Engineer

Job Description
This position will serve as a Telecommunication/Networking Engineer with demonstrated subject matter expertise with industrial Telecommunications, fiber optic & copper cabling and associated cabling infrastructure, network design and equipment requirements.

Responsibilities:
Provide technical direction, guidance and demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of the ISP & OSP fiber optic / copper (CAT 6 & above) cabling and associated cabling infrastructure [MDF/IDF Room &Telephone Closet design & layout, cabinet/panel & enclosure layout, cabling pathway design].
Develop and implement effective cabling and infrastructure designs that include providing specifications, cable schedules and drawings that comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Develop and implement effective network and networking equipment designs that include providing specifications, schedules and drawings that comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Apply working knowledge of BICSI, IBC, ANSI/TIA, and NFPA regulatory and code requirements to site facilities.
Familiarity with Telephone, LAN/WAN and Distributed Antenna System requirements
Qualifications:
10+ years of cumulative relevant experience.
Availability to work fully local in Fluor’s Sugarland TX office.
Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or Electrical Engineering (Associates or BS) a plus, which may offset some required years of experience.
Experience with Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Building Code (IBC) and American National Standards Institute/Telecommunications Industry Association (ANSI/TIA) codes and standards.
Experience in 2D Microstation or AutoCAD drawing, S3D Modeling, or Revit Modeling for preparing detailed design deliverables and design packages.
