Position Summary:

Supports an organization that is responsible for characterizing and shipping wastes to DOE Approved Disposal Facilities. As part of the CH-TRU Low Level Waste Technical Service Group the Candidate will be responsible for tracking newly generated wastes, providing waste generators data, preparing characterization for waste containers utilizing WCATS, and ensuring compliance with all Local, State and Federal regulations as well as, maintain full Department of Transportation program compliance. Ensures that all waste activities performed are executed compliantly with all applicable requirements, laws, and regulations.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the Company.

This Position reports to the Waste Technical Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

Point of contact for waste data management for CH-TRU.
Provides oversight of junior data management personnel.
Develop various waste tracking status reports of mission progress and Performance Based Incentives (PBI), DOE Waste Shipping Forecast(s), and CH-TRU Monthly/quarterly Progress reports.
Develops CH-TRU and ER waste tracking metrics for dispositioned wastes throughout.
Develop, track, and lead data generation and formulation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tracking progress of PBI.
Develop/Compile the PBI Completion and Objective Evidence packages at the end of each fiscal year organizations as assigned.
Screen/Track characterized waste containers for PBI eligibility.
Serves as an independent verification of legacy waste characterization.
Supports data mining for the development of waste load lists.
Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks independently, and to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems. Obtains back-up documentation for each container on the load list to reference during shipment preparation.
Supports development and implementation of training and qualification requirements to training organization for the certification for waste personnel per policy requirements.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Work experience in a quality-oriented environment requiring a high degree of attention to detail.
Knowledge in RCRA and radiological waste regulations.
Knowledge/awareness level of DOT shipping regulations.
Ability to work within established policies and procedures, using independent judgement, ingenuity, and integrity.
Ability to lead and mentor junior data management personnel.
Experience working in a team environment with a strong safety culture.
High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
Work independently with minimal supervision completing assigned roles and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Demonstrated knowledge in RCRA, Radioactive, DOT, DOE, and NRC wastes and regulations.
Experienced in nuclear facility operations.
Knowledgeable in WCATS.
Data management and tracking of various waste classifications, such as radiological, hazardous, non-hazardous, etc.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form with N3B Senior Management Team in respect to waste characterization and data management.
Education and Experience Required:

Bachelors’ degree combined with at least 9 years’ relative experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.

Education Equivalency: 2 years of relevant experience for 1 year of college.
