We are looking for a QA Engineer with the following qualifications:

General Description:
To provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, Quality Assurance with the Savannah River Site (SRS). This support is in the form of administrative and technical expertise in the areas of Quality Control Inspections of Civil and Structural Steel, Design reviews (e.g., design, specifications), and implementation of quality requirements. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.

Job Description
Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements for the nuclear industry and general industrial practices. Develop and revise Quality procedures and documentation in accordance with SRNS requirements, applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1-2019), and government regulations. Works with both Quality, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations Departments to create, revise and approve documents to be used by procurement for the purchase of material and services.
Subcontractor must successfully complete the duties assigned in 3.1.1 above, as demonstrated during the period of performance and verified by the service provider’s manager or designee on a weekly basis.
Subcontractor shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Subcontractor is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.
3.1.2 Experience / Skills
• Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in Civil Concrete Placement and Structural Steel installation with an emphasis on Structural Steel as it applies to buildings.
• Review/Approve Design Output Documents, Work Instructions (Work Packages), Quality Control Instructions, and Nonconformance Reports.
• Perform field surveillances of subcontractor(s) per project schedule or as necessary.
• Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to civil and structural steel, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
• Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans. Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required.
• Review and comment on selected engineering and procurement documents to ensure the inclusion of applicable technical and quality requirements.
• Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.
• Ensure nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication requirements are applied to material dedications for use in safety applications when applicable during field related inspections.
• Develop/Revise Quality procedures in accordance with customer requirements, applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1-2019), and government regulations.
• Heavy background with civil/structural inspections preferred.
• Certifications related to Quality Control desired
• Ability to obtain a Q Level Security Clearance
• Related experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

PhD or master's degree with specialized technical training or bachelor's
degree with extensive, highly specialized training.

Minimum 15 years supporting commercial or federal science, nuclear
engineering or other task relevant programs or projects; typically, 1O or more
years in a management role.
Typical Duties (not inclusive): Project leader, technical organization analysis, planning, project coordination, etc.

Period of Performance Schedule
• Work schedule will be a nominal 40-hour work week but can be part-time or with interruption between on-site requirements dependent on the support requirements necessary for the project. It is estimated that each standard year will consist of two-thousand and eighty hours. Some travel may be required if experience with multiple disciplines.
• The period of performance shall be for a period of one year from award of this agreement. SRNS reserves the right for two additional one-year option periods.

• An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Occasional Travel may be required
