Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for multiple Graphic Artist 2 opportunities for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Work Schedule: 9/80s or 5-8’s, prefer 40 hr. work weeks.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in technology, behavioral science, design, or related field, and a minimum of four years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Twenty (20 years) of directly applicable experience in specialized technical field and is acknowledged as an expert in the specific area in question.

Required Software Knowledge
Adobe Creative Cloud, Sigma, UX Research Focused Software Tools, Experience Usertesting.com

Desired Skills
User Research Method and Principles
Card sorting experience.
Prototyping and testing experience

Desired Qualifications
User research and testing
Intermediate proficiency with mixed method design including quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Intermediate proficiency in conducting evaluative and generative research through quantitative data mining, qualitative interviews, prototype testing, and surveys.
Intermediate proficiency in analyzing quantitative, qualitative, behavioral, and attitudinal data.
Capable of managing multiple studies simultaneously and presenting research findings to diverse audiences.

Help drive the future of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design at one of the world’s most prestigious and innovative multidisciplinary research institutions. Join the Multimedia Production (CEA-MP) group at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to inform, engage, and inspire LANL’s internal and external audiences through the creation of intuitive and innovative web experiences.

As a UX Researcher at LANL, you will participate in defining research questions and selecting appropriate methods for data collection. You will design and conduct research studies, analyze data, transform findings into easily understandable insights, and present your results.

Technical Knowledge
To be a successful candidate, you will have:
thorough understanding of user-centered design and UX research methods and principles (user interviews, surveys, card sorting, usability testing, prototyping, etc.);
experience designing, managing, and leading user research to uncover new insights and opportunities, understand current needs and wants, and test potential design solutions before marketing to our audience.
an understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS), tech stacks, and an ability to advise on UI designs.
experience working on a product team and/or directly with web developers, designers, content creators, business stakeholders, and product managers.
experience implementing multiple UX research methods, usability testing, user interviews, surveys, card sorting, and prototype testing.
the ability to create interactive prototypes using relevant design software; and
an ability to work with, support, and advance LANL’s existing design systems, style guides, and web component libraries.

Technical communication
In this role, you will need outstanding written and oral communication skills and the capacity to understand and interpret technical and scientific concepts.

Collaboration is critical in this position, so you will need experience working as a productive member of an interdisciplinary team, including the demonstrated ability to develop solutions for a wide range of complex UX problems while effectively networking with peers inside and outside the organization.

Customer relations
In this role, you must have a demonstrated ability to analyze stakeholder and user needs and determine the structure, content, and format of user experiences that best meet those needs.

Project management
Project management, including establishing and maintaining budgets and schedules, is an important part of this position. To be successful, you need to have personal project management experience in guiding strategic, multi-faceted, and iterative projects with a collaborative mindset.
