The purpose of this position is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for construction project management with the Savannah River Site (SRS). This support is in the form of Glovebox construction support. Work with other functional groups such as engineering, planning, procurement, and construction to review and recommend specific actions to facilitate constructability. The Subcontractor will be a leader and advocate for constructability principles and will work with auxiliary groups to teach constructability concepts, best practices, construction details and lessons learned. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
Subcontractor duties include but is not limited to the following:
Provide Construction Oversite, Mechanical Field Engineering and Planning with direct oversite of specialty mechanical equipment.
Develop engineering solutions, commercial grade dedication, and design update/improvements for gloveboxes and automated equipment and specialty mechanical equipment.
Review design documents, submittals, and construction plans to meet contractual and code requirements.
Reviewing SRPPF documents to support the construction process.
Perform as a member of the CM team for the SRPPF project reviewing technical project documents accessing Secret Restricted data on a daily basis.
Subcontractor must successfully complete the duties assigned in 3.1.1 above, as demonstrated during the period of performance and verified by the service providers manager or designee on a weekly basis.
Subcontractor shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Subcontractor is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.
Experience / Skills:
Experience in construction related design decisions and planning.
Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and potential resolutions to identified issues and maintain a positive working relationship with project and design team members.
Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and the development of spreadsheets.
Ability to identify problems or lack of progress against objectives and adjust as necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management and business professionals regarding project requirements and project constructability.
Knowledge and recent experience on DOE/DOD/NNSA, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is preferred.
Period of Performance Schedule:
Work schedule will be a nominal 40-hour work week but can be part-time or with interruption between on-site requirements dependent on the support requirements necessary for the project. It is estimated that each standard year will consist of two thousand and eighty hours.
The period of performance shall be for a period of one year from award of this agreement. The right to exercise two, one-year options is reserved by SRNS.
An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
