Experienced Environmental Scientist, or Geologist with expertise to support complex CERCLA/ RCRA projects. An individual with a strong CERCLA characterization/remediation background may be particularly suitable for this position. The individual will interface with a multidisciplinary team in the preparation of sampling plans, annual monitoring reports, remedial site evaluations, remedial investigations, and feasibility studies at hazardous waste sites. Experience in waste site characterization and CERCLA regulatory interface is highly desired, with broad experience in determining nature and extent and fate and transport of contamination.
Responsibilities
The individual will interface with a multidisciplinary team in the preparation of sampling plans, annual monitoring reports, remedial site evaluations, remedial investigations, and feasibility studies at hazardous waste sites.
Experience in waste site characterization and CERCLA regulatory interface is highly desired, with broad experience in determining nature and extent and fate and transport of contamination.
Planning, implementation and/or coordination writing CERCLA documents related to investigations, remediation and closure of CERCLA RODs on the Oak Ridge Reservation
Provide technical expertise, support and/or perform environmental projects through all aspects of data collection, management, and interpretation.
Provide technical expertise, support and review of geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, geologic and hydrogeologic visualizations, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, and development of conceptual site models at complex sites.
Identification, implementation and coordination with a multidisciplinary team responsible for the investigations and remediation of chemicals and radionuclide contamination
Assist with the preparation of technical documents including, but not limited to, work plans, reports, proposals, and cost estimates.
Providing technical guidance and direction to the project team and DOE customer
Identification of specialty subcontractors and directing and supporting associated work
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related earth science/environmental science field and minimum of 3 years’ experience; or PhD and 0 years’ experience.
Strong CERCLA characterization/remediation background.
Knowledge of EPA CERCLA guidance and process.
Experience in working with State and Federal regulators.
Experience working at DOE sites is desirable.
