A Talascend client in Los Alamos, NM has an immediate need for Design Engineers with a Civil/Structural background on DOE or commercial nuclear projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university; Advanced engineering or technical degree is highly desired
6+ years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities
Basic knowledge of common project schedule and cost tracking methodologies and programs (P6, MS Project, EVMS, etc).
Experience in the use of common computer aided drafting software.
Expert knowledge of industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) complex codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to your engineering discipline.
Proven knowledge of applicable codes and standards in common use at DOE and DOD facilities (ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc).
Proven understanding of design development and design review process (30%/60%/90%) and extensive prior experience facilitating design package development.
Proven understanding of technical scope development and senior-level understating of common engineering design document deliverables.
Current Q Clearance or eligibility to obtain a Q Clearance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assigned activities within the civil/structural engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance.
Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
Performs conventional design and analysis.
Provides construction and project support.
May lead projects and supervise the work of others.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
