SUMMARY:

Function as a Weapons Program Engineer within the Reservoir Engineering organization. This position reports to the Reservoir Engineering Manager within the Tritium Engineering organization.
Assignments/job duties include the abilities to:

Develop, revise, and/or deliver Technical Staff training for reservoir processing, reservoir technology, NNSA Interagency Requirements, and reservoir design agency requirements, as applicable;
Work with other NNSA sites to develop interagency production/surveillance requirements and product specific Design Agency requirements, including any implementation of these requirements into the Tritium Facilities' processes;
Develop and generate programmatic requirements and resulting deliverables as defined by the NNSA Weapon Program Project Teams (e.g., Life Extension Programs (LEPs) and Modifications (MODs)), including communication of the deliverables in both written and verbal format;
Develop and generate programmatic and technical solutions involving product realization activities with other NNSA Design and Production Agencies, including implementation of these solutions in the Tritium Facilities;
Facilitate the development and generation of programmatic/technical solutions to Tritium Facilities' production and surveillance initiatives to ensure that these solutions are consistent with Facility and NNSA historic basis and current requirements;
Communicate orally with management, Reservoir Engineering team members, and NNSA Customers regarding reservoir programs, development weapons programs, LEP project scope and status, and Interagency requirements;
Ability to produce written documents with clearly organized structure and grammar. Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office applications;
Complete SRS Radiological Worker Training;
Obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Administrative equipment such as computers, cellular telephone, and site IT access will be provided by SRNS. Domestic travel to Design Agencies, Production Agencies, and NNSA customer facilities (e.g., Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories (CA and ABQ), Kansas City NSC, Oak Ridge, Pantex, and NNSA (ABQ and DC)) may be required in the performance of this assignment.
Travel required in association with this job will be a reimbursed expense.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

BS Degree in Engineering with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of tritium reservoir processing technology experience.
Demonstrated previous experience with weapon system product realization, weapon system project development and the management of Life Extension Programs (LEPs).
Demonstrated previous experience with and knowledge of NNSA Interagency Requirements (Technical Business Practices (TBPs), Development and Production Manual (D&P), and Requirements Modernization and Integration (RMI)).
Demonstrated knowledge of the design and production processes for current and past gas transfer systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
Ability to travel (domestic).
Ability to produce written documents with clearly organized structure and grammar.
Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to pass SRS Radiological Worker Training.
Demonstrated Savannah River Tritium Facilities Operating and/or Project experience (preferred).
Demonstrated Mechanical or Chemical Engineering experience/background (preferred).
Work Hours: A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Scheduled overtime, backshift and weekend work is not expected. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30 minute lunch.
