Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking multiple qualified candidates with a facility operations background for Electrical Engineer positions located at the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Electrical Facilites Engineer-
Job Description:
A facility engineer with an electrical engineering background to perform walk-downs of operating facility, reviews of current design against proposed facility modifications, ensure design changes do not impact safety basis, and provide engineering oversight of performance of both maintenance and facility modification work in the field.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide support to the facility engineering staff as a field/system engineer for facility operations.
Interface and coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., Project Engineer), maintenance, operations and the DOE customer representative to support system operations.
Design and upgrade facility systems and components.
Review and approve system design changes/modifications.
Review proposed changes to the facility configuration to determine impact of facility operations, operating procedures, and safety basis.
Perform or assist with hazard analysis of assigned system.
Review changes to the plant configuration (i.e. design change notices) to determine impact to design of the facility, safety basis analysis, facility operations and procedures.
Adhere to and implement client’s Conduct of Engineering Program.
Perform engineering evaluations of equipment and systems for performance, safety, and deficiencies.
Perform calculations and develop engineering calculation reports.
Provide system health reports, design studies, identify life-cycle cost reductions, and assist with developing integrated technical positions and recommendations for customer approval.
Provide support to resolve any corrective actions or deficiency identified in the corrective action tracking system related to engineering assignments.
Ensuring that facility drawings, technical documents (e.g., Process Flow), and procedures are consistent with the facility/system design, safety basis and configuration. 
Physical ability to perform system walk-downs in the field.
Education:
 Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree.

Experience:
Three (3) to twenty (20) years’ experience related to engineering discipline (electrical) or field/system engineering.
Distribution systems with voltages ranging from 120V to 13.8kV, transformers and switchgear.
Electrical system protection, coordination curves, load studies, and arc flash analysis.
Low to Medium Voltage Industrial Power Systems with voltage of 480V through 13.8kV.
Provide oversight, design, planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low and medium voltage systems infrastructure such as distribution cables, control systems, protective relaying, transformers, switchgear, substations, breakers, motor control centers, alarms, and overall system coordination.
Lighting design, uninterruptible power systems, vessel heaters and heat trace, lockout/tagout, relay control systems, variable speed drives, diesel generators and automatic transfer switches, harmonics and their effects on electrical systems.
Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards (NEC, IEEE, IBC, NFPA 70/70E, and OSHA electrical safety requirements.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Working knowledge of NQA-1 requirements.
Nuclear, chemical or wastewater facility experience.
Active membership with a nationally recognized technical society.
Working knowledge of 10 CFR 830
Other Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
