Overview:
EGS is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at the Pantex National Security Complex in Panhandle, TX which provides integral mission support to the NNSA. This individual would be joining the Pantex Fire Protection Engineering Group.
This position is full-time and will serve the Pantex National Security Complex in Panhandle, TX.
Responsibilities:
FPE calculations and facility documentation as related to HEPF, HPFL, Fire Alarms, Fire Barriers, sprinkler/deluge, and FHA/FFA assessments.
Develop and implement fire protection programs and procedures to eliminate and/or mitigate personnel injury and property damage due to fire and explosion.
Implement programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety is in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, DOE and Life Safety Code requirements.
Develop and maintain Fire Hazards Analyses for nuclear and other significant risk facilities.
Support preparation of annual updates and revisions to the Safety Basis documents resulting from process changes, discovery conditions, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. Degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program in a technical discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years of fire protection experience.
Must be able to work fully in person at Pantex National Security Complex.
Thorough understanding of National Fire Protection Association codes.
Successful drug screening.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. Degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program plus 20 years of direct experience, or an MA or MS Degree, plus 18 years of direct experience.
10 years of DOE-specific experience.
Active Q – Clearance.
