GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Licensed Electrician to join our team in Roswell, GA. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, motivated, willing to learn and teach, enthusiastic, maintains a positive attitude and organized.
OVERVIEW
Maintains current licensing and training requirements.
Analyzes blueprints effectively and utilizes such information on jobsite.
Installs, maintains, and/or troubleshoots basic electrical systems in compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC).
Demonstrates ability to layout conduit systems, various lighting systems, basic control systems, and feeders.
Participates in toolbox talks, safety audits, and related safety functions.
Provides technical assistance to other field employees as needed.
Provides direction, training, and mentorship to Helpers/Apprentices.
Installs conduit systems, various lighting systems, and basic control systems.
Installs motor feeders and makes standard motor connections.
Installs ground leads and connects power cables to equipment, such as motors.
Responds to a wide range of mechanical and electrical problems and troubleshoots to repair, including the ability to rebuild pumps and electric motors in house. Solid experience with laser alignment is also strongly desired.
Maintains compliance with all OSHA and customer-specific safety requirements along with immediately identifying, correcting, and/or reporting any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner.
Actively participates in Atlanta Home Theater hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma and 5+ years of experience in maintenance, construction, repair and servicing of complex industrial and manufacturing power distribution systems, wiring systems, and motor starters and controls.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working from heights.
Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).
Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb. weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.
Georgia Electrician's license and/or Journeyman Card.
Trained in grounding and bonding of medium voltage systems and equipment and Test Procedures and Requirements for AC cable terminations.
Must provide tools necessary to perform job duties.
