Education
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power)
Experience / Skills
Preference will be given to candidates with previous CLIENT experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have held a clearance in the past two years.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facility engineering design support
Experience specifying design input requirements for commercial type buildings such as office buildings, warehouses, maintenance/construction shops and trailer complexes
Candidate shall have knowledge and experience with the following:
• Conduct of Design Engineering procedures and requirements in the DOE/NNSA environment
• Department of Energy Orders and Regulations relative to the design requirements of DOE facilities
• Working knowledge of Building Codes and other Engineering Codes/standards requirements.
• Demonstration of working with multi - functional
engineering organizations.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, excellent listening skills, ability to work well with others in a team environment, and excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to perform periodic field walk downs of the job site
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance.
DUTIES
Provide design authority staff augmentation support for the Design process of SRPPF Infrastructure Scope of Work at CLIENT. The design authority provides design input and specifies applicable codes and standards, collaborates with the design agency throughout the design process, and reviews and approves the design output.
Work Hours:
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. CLIENT utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/lO' s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80' s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes CLIENT holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Design Authority Manager. These positions will not offer the option to telework initially.
Area Security Access:
A DOE security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be able to obtain a DOE "Q" clearance. Preference will be given to candidates who have held a clearance in the past two years.
