JOB SUMMARY
Duties:
Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include HV AC design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to calculations for equipment sizing, duct sizing, pressure drops, cooling tower sizing, heating and cooling loads, and air balancing. Will be responsible to create/modify piping and instrumentation diagrams, system descriptions, mechanical equipment lists, integration with fire protection design, and vendor document reviews. Engineering Services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering.

Experience/Skills:
Experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). (Preferred)

Previous SRS design experience and familiarity with the processes and procedures for providing engineering support to SRS facilities. (Preferred)

Currently possess an active DOE clearance ("L" or "Q") or has possessed an active DOE clearance ("L" or "Q") within the past two years. (Preferred)

10 years HV AC design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.

Knowledge of NFPA 90A, 90B, 91, and 801; ASHRAE Fundamentals; ASME AG-1, 509 and 510; SMACNA; and ARI 410, 430 and 450.

Ability to perform field walk-downs.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.

Reference check to evaluate performance capability may occur.

Work Hours:
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/l0s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance ("L" or "Q") within the past two years are preferred.
