[NDT/NDE Technician] Non-Destructive Examination Technician (NDE)

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) QA/QCI Technician to perform shop and field inspections related to quality assurance and performance of NDE testing. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel and has active VT and PT certifications. This is a full-time role, nearly 100% travel, with overtime/weekend work required. As such, a passport is highly suggested and per diem & overtime pay will be offered in addition to base pay.

OVERVIEW
Conduct various non-destructive tests and examinations (including MT, PT, VT).
Interpret the testing results per the governing codes.
Properly utilize familiarity with all applicable codes, standards, and other documents that control the NDT method being utilized.
Perform examinations independently and troubleshoot equipment, as needed.
Interpret inspections and test plans.
Prepare and complete required inspection reports.
Review and understand order requirements, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria.
Act as a liaison between the company and the customer inspector or the authorized inspector as required.
Interpret fabrication drawings and welding procedure specification.

REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience working as a Level II PT and VT.
Active VT Certification: if you do not currently hold the certification, you must show certificate from classroom training, experience hours and required field experience.
Active PT Certification: if you do not currently hold the certification, you must show certificate from classroom training, experience hours and required field experience.
MT & UT Certifications are a plus.
Perform Classroom/OJT hours as required by ASNT-TC-1A (or equivalent) Level II in PT and VT; MT is desired but not required.
An American Welding Society (AWS) CWI Certificate is desired, but not required.
Familiarity with all applicable codes, standards, and other documents that control the NDT method being utilized.
Ability to read and interpret governing codes.
Basic math skills and basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
Excellent oral and written communication and decision-making skills.
Detail- and customer-oriented with an excellent work ethic.
Team-oriented and professionally minded.
Travel when necessary.
Candidates that have been badged in a US nuclear plant within 3 years are HIGHLY DESIRED!
Must have adequate close, color, distance, and depth vision with the ability to adjust focus.
Must be comfortable climbing, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces.
